I recently cracked open my bottle of Etrog Liqueur from Sukkah Hill Spirits. I included the liqueur in my Hot Gifts for Hanukkah list, so what better than to make a hot cocktail to warm up your Hanukkah party guests?
The liqueur is a little different than I thought it would be. I was thinking it was going to be sweet and thicker like triple sec or a schnapps, but it is actually more like a citrus vodka or a grappa. When I tasted it, I realized it would be perfect for grog.
This Etrog Grog is a lemony, warm treat that is comforting, festive, and oh so good. The star anise gives it a depth of flavor as well as a stylish finish. For serving presentation, put your hot water in a teapot. If you don’t like the lemon pulp floating in the drink, strain the juice beforehand.
