Shabbat Style: Alfresco Orange

Welcome to Day 2 of A Very Jewish Summer! Yesterday, the Yenta Mamas posted an amazing set of cookies. Now, it is my turn!

What I love most about summer is eating outside. Although in my part of Los Angeles the whether is so temperate you can eat outside most of the year, it is still more special in summer, when the days are long and there is even more time to get ready for shabbat!

For this Shabbat Style, I turned up the heat on my grey patio furniture with the colors of summer…orange and yellow. I used some time-tested favorites from Bubbe’s Bargains: CB2’s Numi Candleholdersorange vinyl placemats from BBB and of course, my latest favorite, colored tapers.

While hanging candle lanterns add even more color when hung with ribbons, I kept the centerpieces and kiddush set super simple. Just some plain white flowers from the supermarket informally arranged, combined with clear crystal candlesticks and kiddush set.  The result is…hot.
