With everyone’s thoughts turning to the concept of love on Valentine’s Day, I thought I share some Jewish thoughts on the theme. Unlike proverbs about stupidity, of which there are millions in both Proverbs and Yiddish, thoughts on love are much less common. In the Tanach most expressions of love are devoted to G-d, but only a few about love for your fellow man. There is of course “Love thy neighbor as yourself” which is very well known, but here are a few you might not have heard:
