I was spoiled for choice from my own Purim product line on what I wanted to do for my mishloach manot this year but ever since I designed this box, I knew this would be my mishloach manot for 5777. It is the crossword themed purim box and since I already wrote about the design rationale earlier in the year I won’t go into it again.
The boxes are easy to put together and hold a nice amount of goodies. I always get the treats from World Market since they have a great selection of interesting things you can’t find elsewhere and many of them are kosher. I try to not fill the Purim box with just sweets because everyone is always watching their weight and instead fill it with items I would truly eat myself. I always make sure there is a clear kosher certification on the items. To keep everything from shifting around, I first filled the box with shredded paper. I love how the flecks of color echo the design on the outside.
After I was done packing the box I thought it needed a little something so I quickly worked up a rather large gift tag. If I offer this box again next year I will probably make a proper (and much smaller) gift tag for it that comes with the purchase.
All packed up and ready to go! May you all have a wonderful Purim filled with the joy of giving and unity of the Jewish people.
